Procrastination is the thief of time

Sometime, I just switch on my computer for what I hope will be a 5 min look on Etsy and one or two blogs. But an hour or more later, I am still here. I console myself with the knowledge that it is in the interest of getting new ideas but in reality I guess that I am just procrastinating. For instance, I always go to ebay.de looking for a USM haller unit (for my study to tidy up my sewing stuff). Other times, I visit online fabric stores or even more blogs. Whilst wasting all this time, there are new projects to be started; sometime my head is buzzing with so many ideas that unless I drawn them down I am in grave danger of forgetting them. The fact that I am still online now writing this is testament to the fact that I am not at all ready to tackle any projects.

I know I have not shown any photos lately of things I've made. Promise; I have been busy. I made a cushion cover which may find a new home in Barcelona and I made a lovely tote in my felting class. I'll post photos of them later.

Ha ha. I think I'll go wash my hair and go to bed. I am off to the hairdressers tomorrow for an 8-9 hour braiding session (can't wait till its over).

Already Sunday Evening

Where has the weekend gone.  I am always looking forward to Friday.  This weekend, I had great plans; go out for drinks with friends, sew, shop etc.  I did manage to do all these things but only managed to hit 50% on my list of must do items.  It is now 9pm on Sunday evening and I just rememberd I have a whole pile of ironing to do.  Afraid it is just going to have to wait until tomorrow or some other time (maybe next weekend as I am usually too tired when I get home from work to do anything like that).

Oh well.  Monday is another day.  I console myself with knowing I'll be working from the comfort of my home tomorrow.

Friendship

Certain events over the last week brought me to the point of sober reflection - what is friendship?  I want to be the type of friend who:

listens

does not judge

does not wait to be asked before I offer help when the need is so obvious

and if I am asked for help, provide assistance as far as it is within my power to help the other person

does not condemn

has a positive word to encourage

does not focus on short comings but brings the best out of them

does not go on and on about my life without asking what's going on in their life

does not take them for granted

does not speak lots of beautiful words that are  empty and meaningless

Friendship for me is not only about having good times, it is about being there in the not so easy moments. 

There are lots of other things I could write but for now these are the things I consider to be important in a true friendship. 

To my friends out there, I am sorry if I have not fulfilled all of the above.  I will try my best in future.   Whilst the above is what I would also like to have in friends, it has certainly got me thinking about the people in my life.  And after careful consideration, it appears that so many of the people I called friends are in fact mere acquaintances.
