I swear, once you have tasted homemade pesto, you will never buy shop-made again. Here it goes:
40 g basil leaves
Handful of pine nuts
1 clove of garlic
Place the basil, pine nuts and salt in a food processor and pulse. Transfer into a glass jar, add the crushed garlic, oil and parmesan and mix thoroughly.
It tastes wonderful with orecchiette pasta and mushrooms as shown below.
